On Monday, a team composed of representatives of the International Ski Federation (FIS), Swiss-Ski, Les Diablerets and Lausanne 2020 visited the ski slope « La Jorasse » in Les Diablerets ski area to examine situations on the ground.
Simone Righenzi, Lausanne 2020 Organizing Committee Head of Sport was also present and testified: “The construction work planned for the summer 2018 will help to create a ski slope that will be homologated for FIS races. These adjustments will significantly enhance the resort’s assets and leave a positive legacy for the future of skiing in the French-speaking part of Switzerland. The organization and planning of these adjustments are carried out by specialists who benefit from local know-how.”
International competitions are planned on this ski slope starting from this winter. The European Cup planned for the 2018/2019 season as well as several FIS races are important development stages in preparation for the Youth Olympic Games in January 2020. In addition, these events allow Les Diablerets to durably establish themselves as a place of competition.
